A sheet gold disc medallion with repoussé scene depicting a standing profile figure beneath the faravahar winged solar disc, flanked by two rearing gryphons on a baseline, linked by a wire loop to a smaller gold foil disc; on a fabric stand. 15.42 grams total, mount: 95 x 74mm (3 3/4 x 3"). Ex Helgal Hertel collection Cologne, Germany; previously in the Gottfried collection before 2000.
