Description:

6th-5th century BC. A mixed group of three openwork horse ornaments, one larger two slightly smaller, each formed as a roughly semi-circular openwork plaque with suspension hoop to the top, to the lower edge a row of seven or eight suspension hoops from which hang pendants with ribbed shank and triangular plaques; lower zone of the plaque with a row of twisted rods, each with discoid boss to the lower zone, upper zone with horned quadrupeds; all mounted on custom-made stands. 706 grams total, 16.5-20cm high including stands (6 1/2 - 8"). On the London art market in 2005; formerly in a private collection since the 1960s. [3]
