Han Dynasty, 206 BC-220 AD. A hollow-formed ceramic figure standing wearing a floor-length tiered robe with bell-shaped sleeves; the arms held before the body, one covered by the copious sleeve and the other hollow to grip a spear or standard(?); the head shaved, wearing a scooped headdress; painted detailing to the face, pigment to the cap and robe. 17 kg, 98cm (38 1/2"). Property of a North West London gallery; formerly in a 1980s collection; accompanied by an original thermoluminescence test certificate issued by Laboratory Kotalla of Germany, report number 45PX040419.
